A-3 Summer Program - The First Two Weeks

A-3 Summer Program - 2014

Students really enjoy reading for 30 minutes each day!
Summer is in full swing and the students in A-3 are having a blast.  The first two weeks of program have flown by.  The kids have had fun cooking summer foods, playing soccer, gardening, learning about Brazil and the world cup in Virtual World, and reading.
Students working in the flower beds.
Students in gardening planted tomatoes, peppers, carrots and basil as well as flowers in the flower beds around the Addison Youth Center.
Students must use team work to make a goal!
Learning about taking turns, supporting your team mates and good sportsmanship is a huge part of what they are learning in soccer.

Students are learning how to move around in their world!
Sci-Fair allows students to create a world online. Our students are learning about Brazil and why this country is so unique. They have researched the rainforest, the animal life, as well as the history of the World Cup and the location of the stadiums where the matches are being played!  On July 31st, they will have be traveling to the Wings of Eagles Museum in Elmira to present their world to three other schools.
Just having fun and being creative!

Next week will bring a change in most of the enrichments.  Students will be learning about fishing and have the opportunity to fish at a local wildlife pond.  The Sci-Fair Virtual World continues as students get ready for the showcase at the end of the month.  Also, look for photos from our student photographers!
